Brake Fluid - Valvoline SynPower
I've been using SynPower to flush brakes and clutches because is cheaper than ATE Blue, it's clear and it's readily available at the autoparts store. Before a track event I would replace it with ATE Blue. (The color change lets me be sure I got all the old fluid out.) If you aren't having brake problems with ATE, you might want to give SynPower a try. As an experiment, I tried it at Lime Rock yesterday without any ill effects (944S2w/S4 brakes, Pagid pads, 968 cooling ducts). For comparison, the boiling point of ATE is 536 degrees and SynPower is 513 degrees.

Agreed, It's good stuff.
I've been using it for several years a the track and never had a problem. At five bucks a quart, it's hard for me to say no. |
