Bumpy Hard Turn

Wondering if this is normal or signs of a problem in an 86 3.2:

If I am turning the steering wheel all the way to one side and turning the car slowly (as when doing a three-point turn), I feel a strange, but fairly substantial bump or two as the car turns. As I straighten the wheel and continue driving, it goes away.

Any ideas as to what might be causing this? In other words, what will I have to order from Pelican Parts next? :/

See if the tires rub the inside wheel well.... My left one does ever so slightly for some reason... stock setup too (basically).

To a certain extent, what you are describing is normal.

I haven't had it lowered, but it has about 103K miles. The tires are new, so don't have enough wear to tell much of anything. Is this a job for an alignment specialist or can an amateur adjust the toe?

if you put tires on it, go get it aligned.
i jsut put tires on my 930. i did not think my alignment was bad other than my right rear camber.
turns out he adjusted all 4 corners and it is incredible to drive.

i just went to a tire shop, based on a suggestion because he had the latest machine, plus 40yrs exp. turned out to be a super deal. dont think you have to got to a porsche shop and spend $300.

BTW, i had too much too in causing the same problem you have. felt like my tires were grinding on rocks when iturned it going slow.

I'll definitely have it checked. You described what's happening perfectly. Feels exactly like grinding over rocks when turning going slow.
