				 | Strut replacement help
I have a Boge strut (911-341-079-14) from a complete 911 front end. However the left is badly bent and must be replaced. I'm trying to determine what a suitable replacement would be. The part number isn't listed in PET6 for some reason. Seems to jump from ...-079-00 to -30. I understand that the ball joint types changed in the 70's some time and I believe this is off of a late 70's possibly an SC era car. Can anyone provide some insight to me on a part # that would be a suitable replacement as no one seems to have one of these anymore? Thanks very much!

Update: I've been able to determine that part number 911-341-079-14 is only the strut tube with no spindle. The complete strut assembly will fall under another part number NOT marked on the strut. It's possible that the strut could be one of several. I'm unsure of the year range that the 911-341-079-14 strut tube was used on, but I can tell you it came on a 75 US 911 clip I bought. I can also tell you that these are the part numbers below possible for a strut tube carrying the aforementioned part number... 911-341-043-01 Left with M caliper (3" caliper mount bolt hole spacing) 911-341-044-01 Right 911-341-043-02 Left with S caliper (3.5" caliper mount bolt hole spacing) 911-341-044-02 Right PET says these came on cars from... 69 --> 77 for the M caliper type 69 --> 85 for the S caliper type So at the end of the day, on a Boge strut measure your caliper mounting holes to determine what type you have. Not sure if there are any veteran 911 guys in the forum to back up what I've found. Have fun guys

James - post exactly what you need on the 911 Parts FS/WTB forum. There are hundreds of used complete (with spindle) struts out there just waiting for a new home. Most of the parts traders are more knowledgeable that most of the dealers, so you end up getting exactly what you need. Bill K
