Warning Buzzer Removal

While walking past my parked Targa in the garage last year, the seatbelt buzzer started sounding for no reason at all. Then, just as mysteriously, it stopped. Then it happened again, and didn't stop. So I just popped out the tach and unplugged and removed the buzzer.

Other than the seatbelt warning, did I disable any other features? I have been driving it without the buzzer for about two years now, with no ill affects.

Thanks so much.

When the buzzer in my '87 started to develop a mind of it's own, I too, pulled it. But in doing so, it seems I disabled the lights coming on when the doors open. I cleaned the metal connectors on the relay, and reinstalled it, and replaced the door switches, and viola, all working as it should again.

That may be unique to me car, as other's haven't had that issue.

The first task i did after i brought my car home was to remove the buzzer relay...
I think i removed one of the gauges for easier access.Put some duct tape to seal the connector after you remove the relay.

Cheers !

The actual buzzer itself is on the ignition switch/steering wheel lockset. See #28

If you lay on your back in the driver floor, you can look up under the dash and get a view of it. I think it's held in place with one screw? Just unplug the electrical connector to it. No need to go after the relay? Not sure......

Absolutely the most brilliant post ever! No need to pull the relay and kill your dome lights. Simply get on the floor and pull #28 in the diagram to silence that annoying buzzer Thank you thank you thank you! My 930 is now quiet once again!

Ok, so doing my best impression of a contortionist I got on my back and looked up under the dash and this is what I saw and I took a picture. I tried to mark the important parts to help give you directional reference but I could not locate anything that looks like an item #28. Can anyone help point me in the right direction?

I have already taken a percocet and beer and will probably be going to the chiropractor tomorrow. Thanks in advance for the help.

Here's what I pulled to stop the buzzing (hoping it was the right thing, but even if it wasn't the buzzing is gone!):

In your picture it's behind the black wire where your "back of car" arrow is pointing.

I have not noticed any other effects since pulling mine last year. Other than a calmer demeaner in myself and I think I stopped smoking and kicking my dog after unplugging the blasted buzzer :-)
