How many would be interested in...

a Pelicanhead gathering at Thunderhill raceway in Willows, Ca. for some track time?

The reason why I ask is, I've thought of renting it before for a track day of sorts, and would be lots of fun. Obviously the more people, the less $ per person.

Just in the info gathering stages right now.

Too far away for me. For Ronnie? A short drive from home...

Absolutely. Thunderhill is a blast.

Get some R Gruppe guys involved, and talk to MMarsh, on this board. He was looking at doing something similar at Willow Springs, but there weren't good dates available.

Count me in as soon as I put my car back together, probably in a month.

It's that far. 90 miles north of Sacramento. About 500 miles from Los Angeles. Ouch.

It's an awesome track, though. I've never regretted the 500-mile drive.

It's a 45 minute drive from my house, so count me in. It'll be hard to drive the 911 until next year (engine rebuild), but I'll make a showing and drive my 325is if I'm allowed. Fun track, by the way.

So far 11 people have stated they would be interested. I would like to see around 40 to 50. With 40 people the cost would be around $160 per person with lunch. It would be a little bit less expensive if it was held on a weekday. But I think the majority of people would prefer a weekend.

I would like to shoot for a March or April date, since it would be a warm but not hot. Also I would be able to make it without worry about a fire ruining it.

So spread the word to all your PCA, POC, any other car club friends. I would have to make arrangements by the end of December to secure a date.

Don't you have to buy liability insurance too... or is that part of the rental?

I'm up for it!

You could probably also get Chett Bottone and Troy Allison from NCRC. I don't think they're on this board though. If you do organize something, I can X-post it to the NCRC board for ya. Heck, I'll post a pointer to this thread for the halibut.

As far as I know, it comes with the rental. But I will check into it. I wonder if a release of liability waiver would hold up? Any layers want to speak up about this?

I know for vehicle insurance it's whatever you have. So if your not covered by your policy, you're S.O.L.

If my car can ride up on somebody's trailer (Zois?) then I'd probably be up for it as well.

My trailer is on order. I'll be there. It will be about time to put away the skis. And head for the sunshine.

Maybe I can pick up the kid at Mountain Home on the way. That's if his new wife will let him come out and play.
