MFI Preheater connection

Car is a 72T 2.4 - The MFI preheater hose connects to a short pipe that runs through the engine sheet metal on the left side and down to the exhaust system. From under the car, still on left side, there is a large heavily insulated pipe that goes from the preheater connector (described above) to a heater box around the header.

What is the "parts manual" name of this insulated pipe ? Are they available or NLA ?

Thanks.

JSD,

I think most people call the preheater supply the large tube that supplies the intake horn 'flapper' valve ... but my guess is that you are talking about the 25 mm pressurized hot air supply hose for the injection pump thermostat.

It isn't a pipe ... it is a multi-ply reinforced rubber hose. I have used 1" Gates Green Stripe heater hose as a replacement.

999.181.212.50 -- Hose, ID 25 mm, Length 440 mm.

Stoddard's parts search turns up ... 99918121250 HOSE Call for Availability $43.20 ... so it probably isn't NLA, yet!

Pelican can probably get it for you!

Peter's part number is for a carbureted engine.

Thank you gentlemen -- I think I'll try the Gates "upgrade".
