Just to be clear I'm not having any tach issues with my car. I am being preemptive by using a non-resistor rotor. I have seen plenty of theads on the subject of resistor rotors. The nail in the coffin was that MSD does not reccomend the use of resistor rotors so why take a chance? Warren

I am changing mine out ASAP to non-resistor.

I am sure I read the warning years ago but assumed that I did not have a resistor rotor.

I have been looking for my old spare to test ohms to be sure. It should show some resistance, right? I sounds reasonable but anytime I think I know what is going on with electricity.............

I'm good to go, picked up 2 on Amazon.com. FYI, when I called Napa regarding the EP407 the picture in their database showed a resistor type rotor. Not sure what you will get if you order one. Warren

FWIW, this part is not something the local stores have. I wanted to get a couple and went online to try to have the parts shipped to my neighborhood store. It was going to be a $10 transfer fee from two different stores so they suggested it would be cheaper just to buy it online and have it shipped to my house.

You can't buy happiness, but you can buy car parts which is kind of the same thing.

Here is a picture of the Echlin #EP407.

I also found this as well... wonder if it would work? But it is bit pricey...

Bosch 04-008 Modified Rotor (NO RESISTOR), Fits 010 and 019 Distributors, 04-008M-1-234-332-088 - Aircooled.Net VW Parts

It sure would be great if Pelican carried a bona fide resistor-less rotor.

Thanks!

Just ordered a few from NAPA. $5 each and a few bucks shipping from their (I think) hub in Richmond VA.

Interesting how many cars run this rotor. Look under more applications if interested.
