Hello;
Just got a set of Pirelli P-Zero's for my 1980 ROW 911 Targa. Upgraded to turbo tie rods as well. It's in the shop, a local shop which doesn't see a lot of Porsches... (Long story, but there it remains for the time being...) What should I tell them as far as the alignment specs go? I believe the car is at it's original Euro ride height. I've checked the past posts and basically just get confused wondering if what is recommended is best. I like to play around on curvy roads and may try out some limited autocrossing. Meanwhile, I'm prone to get it up to 100-120ish+ whenever I can get away with it. I understand that some numbers are great for autocrossing but at the cost of high speed stability. Can anyone simplify this for me? Also, I'm curious what the correct factory specs would be. Thanks in advance for anyone who can help. Looking forward to getting the car back on the road. Hardly had a chance thusfar this summer thanks to a late spring minor accident & relocation to Manhattan, NYC...

I had my 78SC set uo for aggressive street and DE events yesterday by Darin @ West End Alignment. Here are the settings:
Front: Left: Right: Camber - 1.25 Neg. 1.25 Neg Caster: 5.0 pos. 5.0 pos. Toe in: 1/16 inch 1/16 inch Rear: Camber: 2.0 Neg. 2.0 Neg. Toe in: 1/8 inch 1/8 inch The result is very noticable and responsive. The fender heights are 25 front and 24 1/2 in the rear. Hope this helps.

Paul;
Thanks for the info. How's the higher speed stability? Have you had it near 120ish speeds? Are these specs prone to prematurely wear tires? Thanks in advance... NSA

I believe the facotry camber is 0 + .5, so I do expect tire wear on the inside. I explained that I drive the car 20 miles a day and at track events. A track car would have something like 3.0 (?) on the negative camaber so I think this is a pretty good compromise. You have to give a little to get a little. COnsidering I normally go through two sets of rear for every one set of fronts, its really no big deal to me.
As for speed, I only drove the car at about 90 at it is rock steady. I won't know about 100+ until I get to a track. Darin was familiar with the track speeds I drive at and he set up accordingly. I'm no expert, but I believe the high speed stablity may come into place when you start messing with sway bars to overcome overstear or understear. The above settings shouldn't have affected stability in that respect.
