Another a/c question

I have the older 10" York compressor which I took off of my car about a year ago in order to save weight. Well, after suffering through the summer with no a/c I decided to put it back on the car and recharge it. I noticed in the bottom of the container that I stored it in, there was oil that had apparently leaked out of the compressor. If this is oil (sure feels like it), how do I refill it?

I know that whenever you recharge a car, the freon has oil mixed in with it but this looked like regular motor oil (yellowish). I noticed that on top of my York, there is a bolt. I took the bolt off and peered in with a flashlight and there was oil in there. So I just refilled it and reinstalled the bolt. I have never seen this before on an a/c compressor.

There is specific oil for compressors -- it differs depending on whether you're running R12 or R134. Most local auto parts houses sell it. Certainly you can get it at an a/c parts shop. Bentley will have the amount. In my 84, I think it was two ounces for the compressor.
