Issue - clutch or box?
Hi folks, I'm experiencing a problem which might derail my Le Mans trip or at least taking the SC so I'm hoping for some useful steers big time from some knowledgeable person.
On a couple of occasions now at traffic lights I have put the car into 1st and on releasing clutch pedal the car just revs. I put pedal in again and get a balk from box on trying to select first again. It goes in ultimately and pulls away on releasing pedal. Have you heard of this or experienced same? The shift coupler is fine - I thought that might be the issue. My intention is to check the clutch adjustment this evening in case that's all it is. What would tell tale sign be ? Clutch seems to engage at right point. The pedal is a fraction lower than brake pedal. Anything in the setup here which can go wrong if pedal held in and which doesn't release? My other thought was selector fork loose - again though surely all the gears would be in trouble? |

The roll pin on the pedal cluster could be starting to go. As depressing the clutch pedal pulls the pressure plate off the clutch disc, it would not be releasing fully when you try to select gears and you'd be getting grinding.

Thank you very much. Is that the Clevis and pin at the end of the clutch cable?

No, the roll pin attaches the clutch pedal to the cross shaft at the base of the pedal cluster. If you pull back the carpeting by the pedals and remove the wooden board, you'll see the pedal assembly.
The fact that the clutch pedal is sitting lower than the brake makes me wonder if this may not be your problem.
