Side window track replacement
My 911 SC has power windows that recently failed on the driver side. The problem was that the track that is attached to the lower part of the side window was loose together with the rubber seal. The window popped out of the track.
The track is quite rusty and needs to be replaced. Should I use any kind of adhesive between the glass and the rubber seal, or between the rubber seal and the track? How should the track be positioned in proportion to the glass? Regards, Daniel

Hello
Normaly the window just sticks into the U shaped rubber profile, however as the original rubber profile is NLA you have to reuse the old one. If you feel it is to loose in the carrier you can bend the channel for more clampforce or use a acryl sealer like sikaflex helping a bit. If you have the newer U shaped rubber profile you need some sikaflex to aid. Grüsse |
