Can you (brand) name them for us?
I can't see why they would not work in a 911 motor. Who knows...they might even be (dare I say it) cheaper! ------------------ '81 SC Coupe (aka: "Blue Bomber") Canada West Region PCA The Blue Bomber's Website "If it ain't broke...we'll help you fix it 'til it is!" |

When I first notified this board (about 8 months ago) that Loctite 518 was the replacement for the discontinued Loctite 574 product ... the data came from an FAA-approved list of compounds for use on piston-driven aircraft engines!

518 works great for cam towers but I wouldn't use it for sealing the case without specific information that it is safe for that application. Just my $.02 -Chris

Cheaper? Naw if you think Porsche parts are expensive try looking at light aircraft parts. Every piece that is critical to the operation of the engine has to be certified and tested, hence an alternator which is basically a Ford part can cost $1000.00, dual iginition is an absolute requirement, not for performance but for redundancy, and that means DUAL ingnition, two of everything.
Remember, if it fails on your Porsche you can still walk home. Robert |
