another G50 question/issue

89' Carrera coupe, 3.2 G50 with 84,000 miles. Original clutch and I just replaced the linkage coupling rubber and all standard linkage parts, both from JWest. Every thing seems very normal however when I take off in first gear the shifter moves a little and acts like it could jump out of gear but it never has. I have read thru several pages after a search but didn't find what I was looking for. Any ideas what this could be?

Could be your shifter bushings... I replaced two on my 87 Carrera, once they go out it feels like the shifter gets loose almost like something broke and the shifter feels loose, but it doesn't jump out of gear.... Hard to say if that is what you are describing, but the bushings are plastic and are prone to break at that age. Once you are in there replace both....
