Euromeister - 17" Fuchs Replica

Have been thinking about moving to 7/8X17" wheels but love the look of my Fuchs. Don't go there often but at A***motion I ran across some 17" Fuchs replica wheels by Euromeister, in 7", 8", and 9" widths.

Unlike the 16" Euromeister (which have been out of stock forever, it seems) the 17" appear to be a new release and in-stock. Pressure-cast like the other diameters, it seems.

Has anyone here actually installed these? What's your impression?

Yup; that's why I asked. Could be too good to be true -- am hoping someone who's actually purchased these can share their experience (and hopefully a few pictures) . . .

Hmm. The picture they use is obviously of a 16 inch wheel (it's the same picture they've been using for years). A 17 inch "Fuchs style" wheel is always going to be different, proportionally. So if these do exist, the first thing would be to see a picture of what an actual wheel looks like.

The other oddity is they are priced the same for 8 inch an 9 inch. That isn't normal practice.

Also, the price is less than the 16s were. Which seems odd.

But, the answer is easily available. Just need to call over there and ask if they actually have the wheel physically in stock and ready to ship out today. (And also ask them to snap a few pictures and email them to you).

My guess is that the catalog is in error. But that's just a guess.

I'm sure a search will prove me wrong, but I can't recall anyone really complaining about their 16" Euromeister Fuchs. Odd that a larger wheel would cost less.

I think those are typos on their site and those are supposed to read as 16's.

They're 17's. I just tried to order some. Guy told me they are out-of-stock. New shipment comes in March 21st. I asked the guy several times if they were 17 inch wheels. He assured me they were. I'm getting them when they're back in stock--whenever that actually happens.

Would love to hear about your impressions/experience when you get them . . . do you already have tires/sizes picked out?

I immediately searched for tires when I got off the phone with the guy about the 17's. I have a narrow body mid-year, so 225's is all I can fit in the back--fenders rolled. I am running 225/45 16's right now and really like the extra little accleration bite 45's give me. To get that same rolling diameter in a 17 I need to go to a 225/40, which in my initial searches turned up Hoosier track slicks--and that's it. Yokohama makes S Drives in a bone-jarring 225/35! size, but that's actually a smaller diameter than 225/45 on a 16. So I might have to bite the bullet and go up an inch in rolling diameter. If so I'll get Dunlop Star Specs more than likely. The Euromeister wheels are $149 for a 7x17". I will take the leap for that price all day long.

Good luck!

I wouldn't buy any tires until you actually have the wheels in your hands, though.

Good advice. Here's what shiatstorm erupted the last time 17 in. fuchs turned people on.

Jeff Alton 17" Fuchs in person, post yours as you get 'em

just ordered the 17" as well. Supposed to be end of March back order release, I guess we shall see. Still deciding on tires though.....too many choices with 17" rims..sizes are easy, model is not

I thought I read an old thread a long time ago that stated that the Euromeisters were cast, instead of forged like Fuchs. True, or no? If so, that might explain the radical price difference.

They are low pressure cast, unlike the Rotas, which are gravity cast (and a lot more expensive).

Exactly! It seems to be a much better deal and uses a better casting method. I'd guess Euromeister is concentrating their efforts on 17" production over 16" production due to tire availability.

They have the same description for both 8x17 and 9x17, did not see anything for 7x17. How do you know they will fit front and rear? Ad says they are in stock, which apparently is not true.

Look further they have 7 x 17 though I too don't believe this.

They list the 7x17 in 23mm spacing which is correct for most 911's front Fuch's so why wouldn't you believe it?

As always support PP when parts are offered
