1989 911 Targa Carrera sport seat
I have sport seats in our car. The center material has split on the drivers side. I am trying to find out if I can source the center perforated material so the cover can be removed and repaired with the new material vs. recovering the whole seat. The condition of the rest of the seat is very good.

You can buy just the replacement leather. If I find the store that sells them I will post. I believe there is a waiting period (not usually stock and made to order).

Hate to write this, but due to your seats being dried out, removing the seat bottoms to replace the center panel will most likely then not tear the bolsters, either on removal or installation. It takes tremendous amount of pulling to get over the sport's 7" bolsters. Ask me how I know.
You can certainly try, but then I would worry about the new stitch on to the old leather, as the center panel is stitched to the side bolsters, not to mention you will need new piping as well. Here is my DIY tutorial: DIY Re-upholstery Front Sport Seats kit 85-89
