anyone ever replaced pre-68 front a-arm bushings? Need some help...

I have removed the front suspension off my 65 911 and cannot get the rear bushings off the front a-arm assembly. Is there a trick to this? The a-arms are stuck into the crossmember and won't budge so I can get at the bushings.

And, where can I buy replacement bushings for these old cars? None of the parts warehouses carry them. Any info would be appreciated! Thank you.

and this:

propane torch! apply heat to the bushing for about seven minutes til you can hear it "fizzle" and it will pop off.

I used the Heat and Beat method as well in my '67. The rust inside had bonded with the rubber...bad deal there...but it's all clean now...

I had a machinst friend make some poly bushings up for me...
