				Lowering the car questions

Hello, What is the procedure for lowering a 911. I am familiar with the coil springs and shocks etc for "other" cars but I know the Porsche if different. I am new in the Porsche game and was curious what is the correct way to go about this. Any suggestions on specific suspension kits? Michael | ||

I believe if you do a search you'll find a ton of info, and I think there's also a Pelican tech article on it, but the main idea is that for the front at the rear of the torsion bars there is a screw that you back out (I think) to lower the front. The rear is much more complicated. Starting in the 80's (I think) the cars got adjustable spring plates in the rear. With the adjustable spring plates i think you get about 3/4"-1" adjustment available (that's total, so probably only about a half inch since they are probably in the middle) Anything more than that requires reindexing the rear torsion bars. On top of that there is the matter of drastically changing the weight distribution across the four tires in the process which then needs to be reset or it can result in diabolical handling and braking characteristics.
