I'm in the final stages of backdating a 1980 911SC to a 74-75 911 with SC flares and a 3.0 litre

Backdating.......

The '77S is getting ready for a backdate project to long hood with a 3.0 liter SC motor. Got all the parts needed just waiting to finish the engine this summer.

Well there should be lots available from others doing widebody conversions and sc/carrera conversions. Shouldn't be hard to find some.
But what you'll need is new sc rear bumper extensions, and new paint job. It's a big job.

I hope this becomes popular. Maybe it will help increase the values of a "real" narrow body, like mine

I have used the rear quarter off an SC on a narrow body and the answer is no there is no issue other than you will end up with a weld that has no apparent rhyme and reason. I happened to have a narrow body flare (there must be a million of them out there from previous conversion to RS) from a previous job and an SC quarter and wanted to fix a narrow body on the cheap. Simply cut off the wider flare and weld on the new flare - nothing to it.
