Best source for a Euro-993 engine???

I'm moving up the timetable for my engine switch. After reading, it seems the euro 993 is the best choice.

What might I expect to pay? Where is the best place to look?

Moses, while 'best' is a very relative terms I will contact Harald Julicher in Germany (automann@freenet.de) if you want to go thru all the fun regarding import, customs, etc. your other 'safe' bet will be Steve Timmins (www.instant-g.com or timmins@udel.edu).

I'm sure that many more people deal with Euro engines.. this are the two I know.

Good luck.

I beleive Jack O got his motor from Harold and I have exchanged emails wth him as well. Never heard anything bad, except for that one miscommunication. I believe Harold made the buyer happy. What ever you do, get everything in the motor purchase in writing. What one person thinks is a complete engine may not be a complete engine for someone else.

These guys in California have a couple of 993 engines for sale toward the bottom of the page, I hear you can negotiate on price:

I'd try Harald,
He is in Germany and can get you a Great engine... Yep Jack O got his from Harald and from the videos he posts I'd say that he is MORE than happy with it. You should contact Harald. I just purchased a set of Orig Carrera 964 RS seats from Harald, he was very good to deal with .. and was very quick about getting the seats to me.

Yes, I'm very happy with Harald's engine. You'll pay a premium for the OBDI 993 motor. Make sure it's worth it, to you. With headers, the 964 engines put out comparable power for a lot less money. I'd say you'll pay 8-9K for the OBDI 993 at the high end, and 6K or so for a 964 motor at the low end.
