Back up lights switch causing oil leak?
I've been stumped by an intermittent trans oil leak for a while. Then I took a good look, traced it to the back up light switch, then diagnosed that it only leaks when I leave it parked and in reverse. Go figure. I assume the plunger rod pushes on something that has a seal on it. Is this a replaceable seal? Reverse lights work fine otherwise. It's a near $100 part, so I'd like to salvage it if possible.

Yes, if that part was damaged due to engine drop it can leak. Unfortunately, it needs to be replaced or you will suffer worse conditions if gear lube goes low. Fix it sooner than later.
