Aux air regulator
So was checking a few things out today and decided to check my air regulator It measured 17 ohms
But according to the Bentley book when it's cold it the little flap inside should be open to allow air through But it's closed only has a small opening see pictures I can push it back but there's resistance as in guessing there's a spring that pushes it closed Can anyone confirm that this flap should be open when cold ![]()

Yes it should be open when cold. Yours looks fine as I've yet to see one open fully. Perform the freezer and oven tests to confirm aperture closes when hot. There are many threads on this topic if you search the forum. Cheers

I agree it is probably fully open in your picture. They don't open much more than that.

AAR (0-280-160-xxx)........
Quote:
cali, A good working AAR is open between 1/2 to 1/3 of the cross-sectional area of the passage hole at room temperature. Even if you placed the AAR in the freezer for many hours, it won't change significantly. The opening of your AAR looks good to me. However, if you are using this AAR (-206) for your SC, you got the wrong unit. This particular AAR-206 is built for '77 CIS engine. Tony |
