US spec 1981 911 sc- so many spark plug options
hey everyone,
I have a 1981 911 sc us spec car I need to change the plugs on. while shopping Pelican I noticed there are a ton of options for plugs... can anyone pint me n the right direction of which one I need? my car is set up mainly for Drivers Events and weekends. any help is appreciated http://www.pelicanparts.com/catalog/SuperCat/911M/POR_911M_ELIGNT_pg1.htm#item0 |

Get either the Bosch or NGK Copper plugs. I prefer the NGK's and make sure it is properly gaped. Also check the rotor, if not within tolerance OHMs replace it. Checking the cap would not hurt either.

If your car has stock injection and compression NGK BP7ES should be great.

My experience is that these cars work best with BOSCH normal plugs, the vacuum retard disconnected and plugged, the timing set to the high end of the factory spec. , and the FV set to 30-40 dwell. The 81 US SC was spec'd for 87 CLC octane fuel, and, if it is in good condition and does not overheat, you can usually run a bit more timing with higher octane fuel.
