SWB vs. LWB Front Bumper differences?

Can anyone spell out the differences between a SWB front bumper (say '66) and a LWB Front Bumper (say a '72)? Are they interchangeable? Thanks in advance! | ||

Not interchangeable due to how they mount to the car. I know because I mounted a 72 front bumper to my SWB and it required fab work to create the mounting points. Besides the mounting points they are interchangeable.

Paul is correct. The bumpers are the same, but the brackets are different.

Here is a reference to early bumpers. There is also the issue of the 25 pound cast iron weights inside the 1967 and 1968 bumpers. Ask me how I know. I had once a '68T.

There is also a difference at the fog light brackets. We installed a SWB front bumper on a 69 and the fog light brackets had to be modified as they hit the battery boxes before the bumper was aligned.
