Pertronix applications????
Have a 73 S', was noting on the various sites that sell pertronix ingitor having no listing for my car.
This is confusing, should it not fit my car if it fits the same chassis dizzy like the 72t and a 77s ???? Please advise, like to quit dancing with points.... |

Points Mounting plate, Rotor ID is probably all that matters
Have a 76 so I'm covered by Std listings. But the device is pretty simple: Hall sensor and magnet ring. The hall sensor module sits on an adaptor (Upright+Plate) that replaces the points bottom mounting plate. If I remember, the plate on the bottom of the points has a lug facing down and a slot (with tightening screw) to swing the assy to and from the distributor shaft. The other issue might be if the magnet ring has the same ID (ie your rotor has same ID as later units) as required for later distributors. If the rotor ID is the same you might even be able to machine up a custom plate or adapt the plate from the bottom of an old points set.
Someone with expertise should be able to tell you if the points plate configuration is close enough for you to use this system. I love not having to deal with points. Also from my instructions: Pertonix 440 E Arrom Highway San Dimas, CA, 91773 909/599-5955 |
