oil question....I'm sorry to do this

Hi...
Sorry to post another oil question. I have read every oil thread over and over again until I cannot take it anymore I decided to go with Brad Penn. I ordered and received my shipment of 20W50 High Performance Motor oil....but the bottle reads "Partial Synthetic" I have read that synthetic is a no-no in my 1980 911 SC. Did I buy the right stuff ?
Just want to make sure. Thanks in advance for your assistance.

Thanks guys. I always appreciate the help I get from everyone.
I just kinda freaked when I saw "partial synthetic"
Looks like it will be going in the Targa this weekend.
Thanks again

Just be prepared for the funny green color. It is weird the first time you check the dipstick and see green oil.

If you have any leaks, be prepared for it to leak a little more if you were using non-syn before.

Oh yea...this too.

I swapped over to BP 20-50 and it helped me remedy a number of previously seeping oil leaks, which then became small drips.

My girl is now full of green blood and dry as a bone on the bottom side.

On a contrary note, I switched from regular 20W50 oil to Rotella T6 and have not seen a difference in leaks but I definitely see lower operating temperature.

I recommend you use Shell 30 weight - Porsche factory said it was just fine - I find it in my local grocery store for $1.19 a quart

May I ask why synthetic is a no-no for use in a 1980 911 SC?

It's an internet Old Wives tale that's been echoing around for decades, don't believe it

Note, it's Rotella T6, not Rotella T.

It's a diesel oil that is compatible with gasoline engines. It has plenty of ZDDP but it's 5W40 which is blasphemy to many people.
