Under dash wiring - Please help me identify this connector?

Hi,

I've found this connector under my dash (passenger side) that doesn't seem to be connected to anything. It's located on the far right side of the dash.
Can anybody tell me what it's for?

Thanks pors1968, I didn't think of that because I don't have electric windows.

I see. the connector also seems to prevent me from removing the under dash wiring loom. The connector won't fit through the hole (into the trunk)...
Still trying to come up with a solution to that problem (other than cutting the wire)

First, what year and model of car, ROW or US. Does it look original, or was it spliced into the harness. Can you identify any of the colors of the wires in the harness.

You're right, first things first

It's a 1973 2.4 911T mfi US
The connector and wiring seem original to the car, wires are not cut.

What does the pin configuration on the other side look like? 5 or 6 pin or 4 slots?
It may help to narrow it down by identifying what could/should plug into it.

It could be for the seat belt buzzer. One of the first things that is removed from the cars. If you could identify the wire colors it would help.

Ed, it's the same part of the wiring loom that the seat belt buzzer is attached to.
The white plastic seat belt buzzer connector is actually part of the same cable. I'll try to make some pictures tonight.

Here is the diagram of the seat belt buzzer and warning light wiring, and the buzzer. It is the only thing I can think of that would be on the passenger side.

That is the connector type Porsche used for relays. The buzzer looks, in the wiring diagram, and in Ed's picture, a lot like a relay in terms of schematic and external pins.

4 slot and 5 pin bases have the same shaped back of the relay base. Knowing which it is may help. Thus my earlier question.
Knowing the wire colors may help unless it is a newer generic relay base that only comes with the wires in one color combination from the base.

You are right - the connectors which get wiring out of the dash behind the instrument panel and through the dash/firewall into the cockpit (e.g., turn signal wiring from the switch) use that kind of plug.

How could I forget the problems I caused myself when I had to remove them by not putting tape on each half and marking them and making a diagram so I could figure out which went where on reassembly.
