Mystery under dash

Hi there,

I have an 1983SC ROW 911. When I bought it it had a car alarm fitted that caused me no end of trouble in getting the car running properly. One afternoon, I decided it was a good idea to just get rid of it. Well.... a hour or two later and enough scrap wire to think about cashing it in, I had it out.

I had this drop down from under the dash. No idea what it is but hoping someone can take a look and let me know

thanks
Geoff

That is a light bulb that connects to the back of your fresh air controls

Hmmm.... Well, just a month ago I deleted my fresh air blower, box, and controls. That light showed up under my dash after the controls were removed. There is a slightly small and minuscule micron of a chance that I was wrong...

The really cool thing about mine is that I discovered it because it now lights up my pedal cluster at night. It's an RSR thing.

I agree it is definitely the ash tray light. pull the ash tray out and look at the under dash frame and you will see a hole that the rubber ring plugs into. it is easy to pull it out of the hole when you are in that area messing with other wiring.

+3 Ash Tray Light Fixture, take a look at the ash tray mount, you will see a hole that fits it perfectly.
