2.7 Tach RPM chart....... faulty tach
I'm in the process of getting my 76 2.7 sorted out and the tach doesn't currently work. I have checked for continuity which is good so I need to explore other ideas or pull the tach and have it checked and possibly rebuilt. I would however like to drive the car some and I'm wondering if anybody would have a rpm chart for a 2.7, or tell me where one might be posted. I would like to see the rpms for each gear at each 10 mph, up to 6000 rpms. I really don't need the numbers for 4th and 5th as I don't want to drive the car that fast in its current condition but 1st 2nd and 3rd would be nice so I don't hurt the relatively new motor. Any help appreciated.

Should be in the owner's manual.

Page 70 of the 1976 owner's manual, assuming 15 inch wheels with 185/70/15 tires: !st gear, 6K=35 mph. 2d gear, 6K=62 mph. 3d gear 6K=90 mph. For intermediate rpm, multiply by that fraction, e.g., 4K in 1st gear = (4000/6000)35=23 mph.

Thanks for the info guys, I can make a chart with it. The owners manual I have has pages that completely stuck together. I either need to throw it away or figure out a way to get the pages apart, anybody know how to do it? I was thinking steam? Thanks
