Is there a special wrench for the distributor nut?
I know this probably sounds dumb, but I'm wondering if there's a special tool or a certain wrench to tighten the nut that holds the distributor in position when adjusting timing. On mine (as I'm sure many are), the vacuum advance prevents me from getting a socket in there, and a box or open end wrench can only move a few degrees before hitting something. Is there a special wrench?

I bought a 13mm open end from Sears, heated it and bent it to the angle needed. I use that in combination with the crow's.

stubby 13mm works fine, but a little awkward...

I use a distributor wrench that I bought at the local auto parts store. It's bent around the distributor and utilizes a 3/8 drive. Looks just like this one:

a small wiggle socet works well. 13 MM socket that allows an angle (like a CV)...Sears. Comes in handy for other things like heat exchanger nuts.

Most major tool manufacturers (Snap On, Vim, Proto, etc.) make distributor wrenches, SAE and Metric. Peruse eBay for a wide variety of shapes. Can also use to access heat exchanger hex nuts.

Fwiw, I use a regular 13mm open ended wrench. 1/8 turn, flip, 1/8 turn, repeat a couple more times and finish with fingers.
