Baby got new shoes
I'm making some changes to my widebody hotrod. Finding 15" tires for less than a mortgage is about impossible, so I sold the 15" Braid RSR wheels and TB15 tires and picked up a set of 17" three piece wheels for a very reasonable price, had them powder coated semi-gloss black and added a set of 245 front/315 rear tires. They are going to look badass on my car once I paint the hood, trunk, and bumpers. Can't wait!

Here's a couple of pics. It's hard to see as she's in the garage up on Jack stands in the front getting a new front end.

They look great. Do you have any problems with the tires hitting the inside of the wheel well on the passenger side or the water reservoir on the drivers side?

Thanks all. I don't know about clearance, yet. The front end has been apart for several months for a rebuild and coilover conversion, as I just don't have time to work on it. The old wheel/tire combo was 24.5" in diameter vs. 25.7 on the new, but the new is also 3/4" narrower in the front. The offsets are perfect for my car. I should know this weekend if I have any clearance issues.
Jeremy, a man admits when he is wrong, but I have to say that I like the look of this set up much better on my widebody hotrod! Just because I need a change, I'm also painting the bumpers and hood/tail like this MW coupe (but mine is a widebody with a turbo tail): ![]() ![]()

Awesome!
I got 305s on my 18x13 wheels. A little rubbing on hard turns on the outside but they are fun! Gotta roll the fenders a little more. 81' 911sc - Weekend Project Car 09 GTR - Race Car

wheels
Nice you did a awesome job giving my old wheels new life, and you should not have any clearance problem. I can't understand why so many 3 piece wheels are built with to much inside rim and backset for early pre 89 911, 4.5 to 5.0 is max

Replaced the front wheel bearings, ball joints, tie rod ends (turbo), brake calipers, and master cylinder. Installed coilovers in the front (rear was done a few months ago). Finally, bled the brakes, rolled the front fender lips, and got the new shoes installed today. They look great, but the front coilovers need to come down a few turns. Tomorrow I'll lower the front, back it out for a much needed bath, and snap some pictures. My objective is a hotrod terror with a nice rake. I should be able to tuck the wheels in nicely. More to come!

Adjusted the ride height and took it out for a much needed bath. It was 60 here today, so perfect for a shower and shake down. The ride height looks good, maybe anothe 1/2" in the back, but I don't want to have the tires hit the wheel wells and I like a bit of rake. What do you think?

Hey, no ideas for more investment! The CFO is getting trigger happy and I don't like the look in her eye.
That said, I do have a pair of big turbo aluminum calipers and rotors...

That car is stunning I love the way you set the car up. The clean engine bay just tops it all off.
