Cool Alternator light problem fixed

Guys,
Fixed my alternator problem last night! I checked the voltage output at the cigarette lighter. Voltage was 12.5 with all electrical equipment turned off. With the engine runnig voltage dropped to 12.29 and decreased slightly with time. So, the alternator was not charging the battery at all!
I removed the alternator and the brush housing assembly was faulty! The housing is made of two metal halfs (Motorola alternator) that is insulated with plastic. The plastic was cracked and the upper brush spring was not pushing the brush against the alternator (slide?).
Removed the assembly and glued it together with 5 Minute Epoxy glue. Put it all back together and it worked instantly!!!
Voltage reads 13.9 Volts with engine running, headlights on and the best part is the alternator warning light went out!!! Voltage readings were taken at idle RPM by the way.
Everything is fine again and the weather is starting to get better
Thanks for all the replies
Schocki
