How do I disable that annoying buzzer on start-up?

My '78 911 has a small symbol for seatbelt and brake on the dash
which lights up and sounds a VERY irritating buzzer
when the ignition key is engaged,

even when the belts are fastened.
Solutions appreciated.

pop out the gas gauge, reach in and pull it out. should be easy to locate, with all the noise it makes. if the gas gauge hole is too small for your hand, the next hole over will work too.

Thank you! I want to do the same to my 79 SC. I hate that damn buzzer.

This is the first thing I pulled out when I got my '79SC:

I remember that I was able to pull it without removing any gauges. I think I just reached under the dash and felt where the sound and vibrations came from.

Oh no, you can't pull the buzzer! It's an original part, your car will be worth much less w/o it!!

I was able to reach my relay through the front trunk.

Adding to this old thread....I have an '82 SC, just replaced my ignition switch (40 y.o. switch failed).

I found an easier way to disable the key switch buzzer, just remove the black connector next to the ignition switch/lock assembly.
