Plasti-dipped my fuchs

Ive been playing with the idea of painting my fuchs for a while now but i had doubts of what they would look like, so i decided to paint them with something a bit less permanent and plasti dip was the best option i really like how they turned out, i think it goes really well with the blue/matte black theme i have in the car

Best regards

What's the white writing on the sidewalls? I think I've seen that on the RWB cars?

All black looks tight on your car Jakz. Wondering if you shot the lugs too!? If so, can't imagine how they're going to stand up to wrenching but then I don't know "dipping."

Looks clean. nice job.

Looks good. I did the same to mine seven months ago and the lugs have held up well. Sure, if you look closely you can see silver creeping through on the edges where the socket makes contact but its not noticeable from a few feet away. A PO two owners back had polished the Fuchs to a mirror finish and replaced stock lugs with steel polished ones, not a fan of wheel bling so tried Plasti as a temporary fix until I decide what I want to do paint wise. Totally happy with it

I really like the looks of this. Is that 930 Petrol Blue? I really dig it.

The PO painted my Fuchs red to match the car which I like, but dipping them black might be a nice (temporary) change. I thought I read that "they" said you shouldn't leave the dipped paint on for longer than 3 months because it could lead to "staining". Any truth to this at all? Or is it just for them to CYA in case something does happen to the underlying paint?

Mine were chromed not polished, ive heard chrome doesnt hold so good in fuchs but mine are perfect, but since ive blacked out all the trim i think it matches.
Idlers is a racing club in japan that has some awesome track days in which almost all the RWB cars participate mine is more like an RWB tribute car, ive exchanged a few emails with the RWB shop and they were ok with it

I love Plasti-Dip!

The one thing that I'll add is to be adventurous - try several different colors to see what you like best.

Black always looks "racey" but it also makes the wheels disappear into the tires (that is why many black wheels have a colored pinstripe). Try a color that has a lot of contrast with the paint just to see what it looks like - you might be surprised. Even Magnus went with gold colored wheels on a recent car that he built.

Have to say I have NEVER liked the looks of Fuchs (there...I said it) But have to say this looks pretty cool. I prefer Fuchs to be either solid "silver" or solid black...I don't like the two tone look that is standard. I painted mine which are now all satin silver.

Looks great black! I'm interested in these Tred Wear letters they look good too. How long did they hold up on the tire?

Thanks for the input, i love gold wheels in black and blue cars but wasn't able to find gold plastidip ive got orange and red and will be trying those soon on different parts of the car just to experiment with it

Actually the back letters are holding really well its the fronts that have faded but ill repaint them soon, i made the stencil myself and used a white spray can, i think you would have a much better result if you use tire paint, i remember there was a special paint to convert regular tires to whitewalls im sure that one would work great or you could try yellow letters i think those would look great too
Good luck and send pics once you do it

Im not sure about the color code, the original one was a special request mettalic blue for 1974 which was lighter but ill search for the one you mention, ive been trying to find out what color it is since i purchased it thanks for the lead!
The only thing i can say about painting your wheels with plastidip is, go for it the worst that could happend is taking it off.
