Those are the sort of white pebbles that are on the nudie beach in Auckland. You wife must have carried them home somehow

I'm suspecting some type of voodoo has been placed on you guys....you need to put some chicken bones under the front seat of your 911 and under your bed, respectively.

Maybe at some point in time you or PO's put the oil res cap face down on the ground or garage floor to take dipstick reading.....and the little thing stuck to the cap..... and was not noticed when it was replaced.

It then fell from cap....into the oil tank. All in all......would go on like it never happened. JTT |

				?? dazed and confused

Does the oil level sending unit in the sump tank have any white plastic parts??

How about the oil thermostat in the block? I've never had the chain covers off of my 74, but it seems that the OP's mystery bit of "plastic" is overly brittle for a chain ramp. Or, are they that color and brittle?? If He can remove the oil tank and shake out all of the rest of the change, he might have enough $$$ to do the repairs.... chris |
