Turbo look option
Looking at a few cars right now, two of which are factory Turbo Looks. Since I see so few of these, Im not sure what this option should command, price-wise.
How much cash, over the standard Carrera should the factory widebody option fetch? Couple thousand, five? More/less? Thanks, <--Getting more and more excited. ![]()

All else being equal, I'd say a $4k-$6k premium is to be expected. I would also not be surprised if that premium starts to increase steadily. Although, if you think about it, it is quite a deal. It would cost you WELL over that amount to bring a standard Carrera to the same level (turbo brakes, suspension, flares, Fuchs, spoilers, etc.). They are definitely a great compromise between reliability, operating costs, and performance. That's why I too am looking for one! (You wanna buy my Targa?

My brother had one, and it is about $5k more for the FACTORY option. Any after market option is ... much less than that.

I have recently bought a beautiful '89 widebody with less than 30K miles for £24,500 Sterling - not relevant to you I know but an equivalent standard body would be approx £21,500.
Worth mentioning that the "widebody" is definately a bit slower and rides harder than my previous standard Carerra! |

Hi Chris
I've attached a photo taken in "Autobahn" in Birmingham - I havn't taken any since I got it home! The car is in lovely condition - won a couple of concours events with the previous owner. Interior is a very clean but is a slightly dodgy "can can" colour scheme (ie. red and cream leather - looks better than it sounds!). I would have preferred Guards Red with a black interior like my previous Targa but they they say you should buy on condition ..... To be honest the car is probably a bit too perfect - I'm finding it very hard to bring myself to drive it during the bad weather - I end up driving my scruffy '96 Nissan Vanette (Dirt Bike Transporter) to work everyday which goes down well in a car park full of BeeMers and Mercs. Ah well .... nice complaint! |
