Partial leather interior. Any difference in conditioning leather vs vinyl ?

My window sticker says "Part Leath Frt-Black"
Leather seats and vinyl everything else.

Do the treatment methods or products vary for leather vs. vinyl ?

I have Leatherique, Lexol, and 303 Aerospace Protectant.

I really like lexol for leather, I don't think it's going to soak in to vinyl. For vinyl I have been using Meguiars protectant for years. I like that it gives a clean but not glossy look to vinyl and plastic.

+1 use the Meguiars "NATURAL LOOK" conditioner for the vinyl. if it UV protector and does not leave that wet look or more importantly dry it out like armorall.

Get some Obenaufs Leather Oil, soak it 3 times over a week period. You will be amazed and it will smell like brand new soft leather :-) and Water Proofer

Obenauf's Leather Oil Preservative : Cabela's

So, I can use Leatherique or Lexol for the seats,
but they are bad for all the other vinyl areas like door panels, dash, headliner, etc?

If you want to keep your leather seats "butter soft", check out this thread on Obenauf's
Soften those "cardboard stiff" leather seats!

For me Leatherique for the leather. My 85's leather looks and feels great. Vinyl will not allow the oils into the material so no, I wouldn't apply to vinyl. The treatment of vinyl is more focused on cleaning and protecting from UV. For that I will clean with many products but afterward I use Aerospace 303 protectant. Cheers

leather vs Vinyl

Leather, vinyl and leatherette are all very different and the products to treat and maintain them are very different. I use Griots Leather Care to clean and condition my leather. It doesn't have any UV inhibitors/ silicone in it and does not dry shinny(natural looking). It is gentle on the leather and works great. If the seats are really dirty then you would clean first with Griot's interior cleaner then use the Leather Care product. If you want shinny seats then any of the off the shelf product will do as most have silicone in them. For vinyl or leatherette i use Griot's Vinyl Dressing which is also good on internal rubber. I may sound like a commercials for Griot products.....but I have tried many products and have found these to work the best.
Good luck.

Partial leather refers to the seats they are part vinyl (perforated area) and bolsters are leather

As noted above treatments for different materials are needed,

You cant beat Aerospace 303 for vinyl and Obenaufs for leather

Since I already own the products, I'll stick to Lexol and Leatherique for the seat bolsters, which are apparently the only pieces of leather in the car. I will use Aero303 on the rest of the vinyl interior.
