AC wiring problem

I just completed installation of new carpets in my 1987 Carrera.

The console had to be removed and wiring disconnected...here is my problem:

The evaporator switch plug harness SHULD carry power when testing the RED wire.

Power is fed from fuse #2 in the luggage compartment VIA a AC relay IN THE

SMUGGLER BOX

I do not have power at the evaporator plug!

I installed a new AC relay in the smuggler box…I thought this might be the problem

Result: red wire attached to pin 87 has power,

red/white wire attached to pin 30 does NOT have power.

AC fuse has power both sides

My understanding is that power should flow the opposite of the above result...

Any idea what should I do? I can not complete my carpet install and assemble the

console until I get power in the evaporator switch plug...

Look at the 84-89 schematic. Red and Red/white changed on pin 30
