Question Compression/Leakdown test

I've read about leakdown tests being done but will an old fashioned compression test give me similar results (plugs out crank the engine on the starter) If so what sort of readings should I get?

Per BA's recommandation, compression test should be done prior to leak down test. I remember my readings were between 150-170 when I did mine couple years ago. Leak down test is to find out where's the leak for the low compression reading cylinder.
Hope it helps.
