930 Owners--do you have pricing input?
It looks like I need to replace the overboost valve on my 930 since the seals are gone, along with the cold start idle switch.
Parts and labor for the overboost are quoted to me at around $600. $400 for the cold start idle thing. My car has always intermittently idled high and recently never comes down after it warms up--we are talking 1800 RPM warm sometimes. Since I needed to pass an emission idle test, 1800RPM won't fly. Just curious if others have replaced these items and what the cost was labor and parts.

I think you are talking about the compressor bypass valve. It has a piston in it and some seals. I the seals are bad you can hear the piston click as you bip the throttle. I did the job myself. I can't remember the exact price of the 2 seals but less than $20 for parts. The labor would take less than 3 hrs if you clean stuff up.
The fast idle thing could be a number of things. So you would need to diagnos what the problem is. That might be worth $400 The other job would be more like $300 Try and do it yourself

Dean, that's the noise. The clicking has gone from noticeable to LOUD. Looks like the intercooler would have to come out for me to get to it since I have an aftermarket intercooler. Not sure if you had to remove yours. Good to know that the overboost valve is rebuildable.

When I rebuilt mine I had the stock 75 plumbing which doesn't have an intercooler. I have since updated my motor with a custom intercooler and a 993 compressor bypass valve. It is not called an overboost valve, that would be your wastegate. There is an overboost switch, but that is something different.
I hope you rebuild it yourself. It's not very hard to do and you would save some money. Have fun

Have a clicking sound? Dump-valve seals gone bad? 600 buck you say? Pity you don't live in sweden, i would really like to take your money...
![]() ![]() ![]() Here it is, in technicolor: Changing 930 dump-gaskets, pictures galore It's really quite simple job that can be done home in the garage. Save those 600$ (and probably 300$ too) and buy me a beer next time you are here :-P New seals cost me 6$40c a piece....that's 13 dollars plus two hours of lazy wrenching and snapping pictures as i took everything out (never did it before) Also, i had problems with fast idle that happened to go away after i changed seals and tightened all hoses.

The part # is 930 110 149 00 (thanks Goran). I had to order them through my local dealer (couldn't find it on Pelican). Just a heads up, The PET system that some if not all dealer parts depts use will misidentify the part and call it something else (filter gasket) but the parts diagram will indicate otherwise.
Here another bbs post about this gasket: Does your 930 click?

Thanks, Wade. I'll give that a shot. I'm surprised Pelican and the others don't stock it. It seems that a part like that would be widely available since they blow out so quickly.
