Do cat conveterrs decrease performance (even more!) when they get old. Should they be replaces after 120K miles?

Everything I've read says yes cats do rob you of performance as they get older. This happens because the cat gets "clogged" with the exhaust byproducts that it is filtering out. You can replace them but they are very expensive, try finding John Walker or Wayne on the posts and ask them, they are just 2 of the many people that have more information than me and are willing to help. Good luck, are you trying to pass smog test or just looking for a boost in power?

does your car have an air pump....i dont think they do but a car without a cat pollutes the enviroment about 50 times the same car that does....oil destroys cat converters...
