Hi

Gearbox Mounts
Hello Everyone
![]() You're looking at a 1984, 915 gearbox mounts. You will see a gap in there. Do I have these things mounted upside down? Let me know your thoughts. Thanks. ![]() ![]()

If the clutch engages smoothly when starting out, you are good.

You got it correctly Brother L
Some have grounded down the metal tube around 3MM to take up the gap, but those are track guys. J

Guys, I recently replaced all of my 86's mounts due to the Shifter "Kicking" feel when letting up on the gas. Well, the mounts helped, but did not eliminate the kicking feel and I believe it is due to this gap. I will probably end up putting an extra washer there to off-set this gap.

I shimmed mine with a thick washer, so the rubber was tight. Helped fix my clutch shutter when starting out.

Have you looked at the motor mounts at all? Obviously they are the other half of the equation in alleviating awkward shift behavior.

Hi
|
^^
My car doesn't have an awkward shift problem. I just simply noticed the gap in the trans mounts.
