I'm Porscheless

After owning my SC since 97 I sold it this week.
It all started when I was picking up some parts a couple of weeks ago from my friend/mechanic. I was telling him that I was scaling back on track stuff and I was thinking of removing the 930 brakes and putting the stock ones back on. He countered with do you want to sell me the car, and offered a fair price.
I drove it to his place a week later and went over what I thought was an issue. Lets just say I left his place without the car. I dropped all my old parts last night took some pictures.
Now I have a puddle stained garage waiting for another car.
I would like to thanks all the people here over the years who gave me help through this technical forum. It saved me a ton of dough.

Wow, If I did such a terrible thing I don't think i'd admit it on a public forum :P Hah

Having a close look at those pictures I now know exactly who you sold it to, can't wait to see it soon!

Hope you don't start regretting it soon...

Don't fret. If you were willing to sell it means it was not meant to be.

Problem is, when you really start missing it, you won't be able to afford another one.

+1.
I am keeping mine until I can no longer enjoy it or until a priority other than myself arises.

I was sworn to secrecy. I posted this topic on Rennlists Canada page and kept the buyer out of it. Funny thing two of the posters on that thread use him for parts as well.

It will still be tracked

No I didn't have to sell it. I've been thinking about it for a while and the way it happened I didn't have to advertise or deal with test pilots.
I'm looking for something with more creature comforts.

"I'm looking for something with more creature comforts". Such as? Porsche or something else? The newer 911's are definitely not as raw as you're used to. They're a little too refined for me but impressive....and comfortable. Cheers

Hopefully you can find something more to your liking Brian. I saw your car tonight, what a beauty, I'd love to have it exactly as is!

Funny, I also owned my 911SC since '97 and sold it a few months ago. It was simply time to make a change. I replaced it with a '94 968. It's an incredibly capable sports car.

Noticed that all these selling threads are from Canadians. Interesting.

You're probably on to something. The pricing on these Canadian cars are greatly affected by market forces in the US. Namely they are usually going for similar pricing seen in the US, only translated into CDN$. The CDN$ has taken it on the chin (vs the US$) lately so the value of Canadian cars has increased even more than they have for US shoppers. That creates a large incentive for current owners to cash in. Unfortunately parts prices (in CDN$) for the people holding on to their 911's, has probably increased 20% in a year. I need a windshield for my 993 and was quoted over $1300 for the glass.....yikes!
