The seats bolt to sliders, the slider base bolts to the chassis
yes, the 964 and 911 sliders are interchangeable

there may be differences if in electrical connections if talking about power seats.

Thanks Bill. To be clear, there is no need to change sliders or anything.

Are the chassis mounting flanges along the tunnel and along the rocker the same from 74 911 though the 993.

Thanks again
Doug

The 85 and later seats sit higher
The later seats from 85 have the seat belt fastener on the seat. Continue to use the fastener on the chassis tunnel because the smaller 6mm bolts wont hold the seat on a crash situation.

No, before '84 they had flat, shelf-like brackets on the tunnel and rocker. Then they switched to the rectancular bracket that you have.

The 964 seats have the sliders integrated, so you will remove the '84 sliders.

I put 964 seats in my 1974 911 and they were identical size. The 964 tracks bolted right in. The only issue was that my existing seatbelts would not fit into the built-in recepicals that are on the 964 seats - I had to buy new seatbelts (which I needed anyway). The 964 seatbelts that I found required the 964 bracket that mounts under the rear panels to guide the belt.

964 seats were 49lbs ea (with power options) and the orig '74 seats were 34lbs ea - just FYI
