Speedo and Odometer both stop working
I went to go for a drive the other day in my 84 Carrera and the Speedo cluster was not working at all.
I have read all about the gears wearing out but that is always just for the odometer, I bought the car a year ago and the pervious owner had replaced the gear in the cluster, so I am not sure where to go next. Any ideas? |

Check the connectors in the shift coupler area in the tunnel between the rear seat floor under the cover. One may have come loose.

More than likely a capacitor and/or diode has died. The capacitors should have been replaced along with the odometer gear(s).

Put it in another 911. See if it works. If not it's the gauge. Needs an overhaul. If it DOES work it's your wiring.
