engine bay cavity behind strut tower

Both of my openings behind the strut towers are open. I am looking for something to plug them up that will not burn. Any suggestions?

If you must, you could simply order the two foam blocks that were there from the factory.. they're still available.

Funny, I was just wondering about that foam block on the driver's side of my car. Passenger's side is gone.

onboost, running down the hot asphalt in Phoenix, I can imagine the engine fan sucking hot superheated air from the street across my exhaust up into the engine compartment. Do you know of a place to order online or just dealer item? Thank you for the info.

If you don't mind not being concours, you can use HVAC or water heater foam insulation. That round foam that surrounds the water pipes.

Use some 3M adhesive and shove it in there. Problem solved

Remember do not completely seal it, just make sure it is about the same length as the remaining OEM. Apparently PAG wanted some air to circulate back there. :-/

If these are missing on my car (I will have to look), could that explain why I am getting heat/warmth in the cabin with the heat off? It definitely feels like the heat is coming from behind me.

Here is a link to an old Pelican thread on this blocking off this area.

Hot engine bay-

Can someone measure the length of the a new block? Any pics of these install or installation pics so I know where to put these (if mine are missing).

Thanks

You don't say what year your car is, but this would have nothing to do with heat entering the cabin. I suspect you have an issue with the heat flappers under the car not being fully closed when the heat is off.. that would be a cable issue or maybe the little spring that adds tension is gone.

93Nav,

Most likely your flapper box is stuck open or not closing all the way when levers are down.

Jack her up safely and have a helper work the levers, I bet you will find your culprit.

If your rear seat belt bolts are missing, it may be seeping hot air throw those.
