I accidentally dropped my engine now it wont start!

True story: Lowered my engine ever so slightly about 2" with the floor jack to help get the motor mount bar out, then went to lunch.. then went to the welder when I came back the engine was nearly on the floor. My jaw was on the floor.. no wooden brace was placed to stop the jack from collapsing.. which is prudent.. and I usually do something like that. It surprised me how little time elapsed and is a good reminder to never crawl under a jack.
Anyway, a few days later, with the newly refurbished motor mount in, I went to start car and it's a "no- start". I looked about for wires which maybe got pulled out when I made this gaffe of-a-partial-engine-drop. I did notice some wires disconnected and plugged them back in (at the left of the chain-housing red wire yellow wire with spade connectors one large one small plugs into a ceramic sensor) Where else should I look? Battery is good, lights and horn work, dash lights are out. I suppose there must be a few places to look for a loose wire. what else may've gone wrong? I don't think I have ever done anything so stupid before.. pretty sure about that, but there is always tomorrow. Ugh!

Chances are you have a loose wire. Does the motor crank?

no crank.. I am pretty sure it's a wire too. Hoping an easily locatable one.

Check the wires to the back of the starter. Hopefullu it is just the smaller wire qith the slip-on connector. You could have broken off the large red wire that is attached at the stud with a nut.

Best of luck,

Rahl

Check the 14 pin connector at the back of the fuse panel is fully plugged in.
If there was enough strain to pull off the TTS wires you mentioned, odds are the 14 pin connector was pulled out too. Check CDI plug as well.

Is it possible that one of the wires shorted when the engine dropped and you have a blown fuse?

I hope your shifter related parts are not affected. Lowering an engine for a removal requires undoing the shift coupler and keeping an eye that the shaft out the front of the transaxle doesn’t contact the body. In your case I imagine they were under great strain.

Check the "rear" of the engine compartment where the crossmember is. If you see a harness with wires and plugs and misc guts hanging out, that's the one.

Take the rear fuse cover off. There will be a rectangular 14 pin plug on the left side.

This. If you left the shift lever attached the shifter is likely bent.
