Finally bought 1-6 orig workshop manuals!..but there is a problem....

They are absolutely mint except for some slight bending of the binder from being on a shelf...

They are way to nice to actually use and way better than described....lol... It appears they have never even been opened by the PO.....so what do I do? I expected at least some fingerprints....kind of like that first scratch on a new car.....

Btw...I have the bentleys, e-copies etc.......but these are incredible so far.

maybe start scanning every page and make a nice digital copy to use instead of putting your dirty fingers on this wonderful piece of history you have acquired.

I've got a set in similar condition, I research the section I'm working on, and take photos on an old iPad I use in the garage........that way they stay clean.........I do the same with the parts manual.

Those are great ideas.

Here is a shot of one of the foldouts in volume 1 (50 years old, I believe..):

Maybe some white cotton conservator's gloves and a face mask.

a commercial scanner could make quick work of these (and really not much $), turn them into a PDF, put on an iPad with a protective case and screen cover...

I was actually just wondering if anyone has scanned these manuals and if they are available in quality pdf form?

They are out there but they are not PDF's like the Porsche parts manual. No indexing.

Check on Ebay to get an idea for the $15 manuals
