Replacing the vinyl in the gauge area

Hey Pelicans,

I already removed the vinyl around the gauges and want to replace it with leather. Not sure yet how to do it - use the old thin one as a template? - or does anyone made a template which I could print and copy it onto the leather? Any advise is welcome..

I used the original material as a rough-template, leaving a little extra on the new piece, and then glued the new "leather" to the face of the dash...then trimmed to fit, cutting as necessary to insure good fit, no wrinkles. And then cut-out the gauge and switch holes with Xacto.
I used Alcantara, a very forgiving and easy-to-work with material.

I was looking to do this job also, does the dash need come completely off or can you just loosen it off a bit?

The alcantara is the perfect material in this area. Nice work. Like the WEVO shift knob too.

I'd like to hear the answer to this as well.

You need to pull the dash top to do this. Also, the lower dash trim, clamshell around the steering wheel, etc.
