'78 SC CIS Warm Up & Thermo Valve Plumbing
Does anyone have a diagram or can tell me whether the port on the warm up valve that goes to the vacuum limiter points outward like in the first picture, or toward the center of the motor?
Also, where, oh where is the Thermo Valve (second picture) supposed to mount? (Hole is for 6 mm bolt if that helps) Thanks! ![]() ![]() |

First pic is correct orientation.
2nd pic Tony or others will advise. I don't have that on my 81 as they reconfigured a few things.

TTV mounts to/with bracket for mounting rear heater fan on intake runners.
If you have backdated heat it will mount to the top of an intake runner by itself.

There should be a stud on the flat part of the #2 intake, or maybe it's on the #3 which will work well for the mount.

Regarding the TTV mounting position - on my 79 SC here is a U-shaped bracket that held the blower fan, in the back left side of the engine bay. The bottom of the U has a bolt hole in it, and the TTV mounts on the bottom of that bracket, with the hoses pointing backwards. Here is a poor resolution picture of where it is in my car.

Here Maybe?
Hoses make it want to go here... but then the warm up valve has to go the other direction, with the thermo valve port toward the center of the engine. Everything else seems to line up though.
