				Horn not working ?

Hi Guys, My horns on my 80 SC we're working fine until last night when I removed my steering wheel to install a bushing sleeve. Once I reinstalled, no horns. I know I plugged the wire back to the horn button correctly. What else could it be ?

Is this one of Mitch's bushings? I had this problem. It turns out the factory steel part on certain years of cars if the only way that the steering column grounds to the chassis. John walker suggested a piece of spring steel on the column in the smugglers box, but instead I installed the factory steel bushing out of a 928 available thru our host, and it works perfectly.

If you don't hear the relay clicking when you press the horn button, then definitely go back to the steering wheel and make sure you're getting continuity to ground when you hit the horn button (with the battery disconnected, this is easy to check with a multimeter). If you do hear the relay click, then the problem is between the relay and the horns, or the horns themselves. In my case, I swapped the steering wheel and the next day my horns weren't working-- just being rational, I assumed problem was with the wheel, but it turned out that my horns themselves were dead...

Yes, I did use Mitch's bushing. Works flawless besides the horn issue. Anyone else have this problem ?

Do this. Try removing the key altogether.....I'll bet your horn will work with the key off and removed....an important part of this is to actually remove the key, as once the key is fully inserted, it breaks the ground thru the steering lock tang that's part of the ignition switch.
